KINGS Of Leon’s Jared Followill blames New Order’s Peter Hook, 54, for turning him into a bass player.
Jared, 23, who rocked the MTV EMAs last night, said: “I only started playing bass because my brothers needed a bassist. I didn’t want to.
“But then I heard Peter Hook. He’s my biggest influence. I connected with the way he writes melodies on it.
“Ninety-five per cent of bassists are in the background but he managed to put the instrument back out front.
“Now I play my instrument like it’s a lead guitar.”
